However, this is just a fiction of framing my subject to convey a feeling. The spot was actually packed with tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"cont\">It turns out to be the burial place of David Hume. I probably stopped at his grave when I was there, but I had completely forgotten that fact until I was researching the photo. Of course, it&#8217;s also likely I was in a mental (as well as literal) fog and wandering about unaware. Our sightseeing often takes on this quality; it&#8217;s only later that I learn about the sights I missed, sometimes by only a few yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2007-06-29.
