Lake District: Great Langdale
Stickle Tarn
As we climbed over Blea Rigg from Grasmere, the fog lifted and Stickle Tarn came into view.
Looking down at Great Langdale from Stickle Tarn. The large lake on the distant horizon is Windermere, where the Swallows and Amazons camped out on island in a perfect summer, long, long ago. What parents today could let their children sail out to an island to camp all summer?
Elterwater
Our little corner store in Elterwater with post office, newsagent, tobacconist, confectionary, groceries, frozen foods, and household goods.
What beautiful scenery. So different from our hot August, although we have been getting rain. Keep posting, and tell us what you are up to.
