The boy has a new apartment. Its spare efficiency reminds us both of our Japanese apartment although it is smaller and has much more modern appliances. I like it for the little balcony that it overlooks a grassy courtyard. And he has a dishwasher. I still don’t. The apartment is small, but it seems light and quiet.
AJM and I are so excited you’d think we were the ones leaving home and getting a place just our own. Our house seems so much more intimate. This house is really too big for one person but too small for three. I feel just like the farmer who brought all the animals into his tiny house. The house seems so much larger when they’re put out again.
