			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Approaching the 20th anniversary of our adventure in Japan, I have decided to migrate nipponDAZE from Movable Type (where it has been dormant these last two years) to WordPress.</p>
<p>The archives of the original Movable Type blog, written from 2001-2007, are still available.</p>
<h3>Migration Notes</h3>
<ul>
<li>2009-08-01. Started with the Theme:oriental and made some minor tweaks to it. Right now I want to focus on content not design.<br />Like Google, this site will not support IE6. Upgrade, people. Upgrade!</li>
<li>2009-08-02. It really annoys me that I can&#8217;t change the headings on the calendar to be Japanese because it depends on the localization. I don&#8217;t want to change my locale. I just want to be able to control when and where I use Japanese characters.</li>
<li>2009-08-11. Decide to separate out the topic-centered posts originally written in Movable Type. Some of those are about specific events so they will have the actually event date. But I want to keep the diary entries more of an overview of each day.</li>
