A Brave, New Curriculum

I've been very busy at school this term because I'm designing a new curriculum to teach conversational English. I've been creating worksheets and lesson plans and all my non-teaching periods at school are spent grading papers and developing remedial worksheets. I've taken charge of my own classes, but now I have to follow through and do the work.

It was refreshing to have two weeks off from school. Buying the English conversation book and reading some articles in Kyoto has refueled my desire to teach. I've mapped out a new conversation curriculum. I make worksheets for every class so that the students actually have to produce and practice language. I'm giving homework and keeping records of all my students. (I see close to 200 students scattered among 12 classes a week).
